Readers of all ages were on the same page for Literacy Week at Castlewood!

The week started off with a morning chant to R! E! A! D!… READ! READ! READ! This year’s Literacy Week was full of fun for readers of all ages. Students enjoyed each opportunity to celebrate reading and joined the Castlewood community in dressing up as a book character, wearing a mustache, sporting funky socks or mis-matched shoes, and cozying up to a good read aloud book in our PJs! Senior and Junior students were paired up for buddy reading and we welcomed Paul Orshoski for a special author assembly! We love Literacy Week!

Kindness Committee delivers record breaking amount of food to local pantry!

Third grade KC members collected non-perishable food in the lobby of Castlewood for two weeks!

Today, they delivered several boxes of cereal, pasta, and canned goods to a local food pantry. During their tour of the pantry, students learned about needs of the community as well as food safety laws. Everyone left feeling grateful and happy to help.

Thanks to all families who donated!

The KC hopes to hold another drive during months that food pantries tend to be forgotten (February/March & Summer). Stay tuned!

A Wonderful Wonder Walk

Castlewood’s tradition of The Annual Halloween Wonder Walk made for a magical morning! Helping March of Dimes as we show-off our amazing costumes is really such a TREAT!

We’re Back! Welcome to the 2018-19 School Year!

We are thrilled to welcome students, staff, and families inside our castle walls for the first day of school on Wednesday, September 5th! Everyone has been working tremendously hard to make sure the building, classrooms, and shared spaces are ready to go! We can’t wait to kick-off what will be an incredible year of curiosity, growth, and learning! See you SOON!

Don’t sweat the test! Just try your best!

It was an especially warm and cheerful welcome for all students at Castlewood today as KC members lined up outside the main entrance with pom-poms in hand cheering,

“Don’t sweat the test! Just try your best!”

This kind, energetic reminder brought many smiles and helped to ease some jitters.

Good luck to all test takers!

Just try your best!
